Robert Thorogood: From Death in Paradise to Death in Marlow

Wednesday May 18th, 7:30pm
Pinder Hall, Lower Road, SL6 9EH

Robert Thorogood is a screenwriter best known for creating the BBC1 murder mystery series "Death in Paradise". More recently, he's written "The Marlow Murder Club", a modern-day murder mystery novel set in his hometown of Marlow.

In this talk, he'll discuss the challenges he faced getting anyone to believe in his "Copper in the Caribbean" idea, why he felt he had to kill off Ben Miller, what it's really like to film in the Caribbean for months on end, and the wisdom (or not!) of setting a murder mystery in the town where he lives, and where his real-life Postie insisted on having a starring role.

Following his talk, Robert will sign copies of The Marlow Murder Club, which will be available for purchase.
